This Wood Life piece was created by Cory Welch. Cory is a past Crowsnest Pass dweller, who has a unique style to his art. He has a sense of mystery and funk, and he is definitely a talented artist with his outstanding line work embedded in his images. Cory and I worked on this because of my love for the mysterious Sasquatch (also referred to the Passquatch). Cory and his wife used to take care of our dog for us and I was lucky enough to witness Cory's hidden art pieces. This is why I knew Cory was the right fit for this project. The Passquatch compliments Cory's style. Cory put so much thought and passion into this piece, including the waterfall showing Lundbreck Falls, the mountain range representing Livingstone Range, Crowsnest Mountain being the centre of the art, rum in the backpack to honour the Rum Runner Days, and even leaves in the shapes of hearts to represent love for nature. The sign, 'Wood Life' is a play off of the saying the 'The Good Life'. Uplift Adventures is passionate about getting people outside as it has changed our life and healed us from traumatic events. The greater outdoors helps us stay mentally and physically strong.
