Half Day Hikes (Castle Provincial/Wildland Park)

Description: Walk through the remnants of an old mine site while taking in the spectacular views of the Great Divide. Get a full 360 degree view of the region on this half day adventure. This adventure is a great hike for a sunset retreat or an early morning jaunt.

Half Day Hikes (Crowsnest Pass)

Elevation: 220m
Ability Level: Easy – Moderate (one steep section)
Hiking Time: 3 – 4 hrs
Driving Time to Trail Head: 35 min

Description: The road to the Window Mountain Lake trailhead is an adventure in itself. If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle, ask to book our shuttle. We will take you up the headwall, which is a short and steep section that leads you to the stunning Window Mountain Lake. At the lake, listen to rocks falling as the sound bounces around in the natural amphitheater created by the lake. We can then venture around the stunning alpine lake. For a full day adventure, check out the Mount Ward hike, which is recommended for those that are strong hikers.

Ability Level: Moderate (some steep, loss rock sections)

Description: Do this hike as a great sunset adventure and watch the sun descend behind Crowsnest Mountain. The hike is wonderful during the early summer when the alpine flowers are out in full bloom. This is a great hike to introduce yourself to Crowsnest Pass.

Full Day Hikes (Castle Provincial/Wildland Park)

Hiking Time: 5 – 6 hrs

Description: Take in the scenic views of the West Castle Valley and Castle Mountain Resort as we hike up to Haig Lake. Enjoy the mountain clear waters at Haig Lake and stare up at the towering-lichen covered walls around you. Time this hike right so that you can enjoy a mountain picnic at the lake.

Hiking Time: 7 – 8 hrs
Driving Time to Trail Head: 20 min

Description: Head into some wildland and a landscape that resembles the moon. This special area is a bit tricky to get to with several creek crossings along the way. Expect to get your feet wet and on a hot day, these cool waters feel really great! You will get stunning views, even from the beginning of the hike. If you are a strong hiker and looking for something even more unique, ask us about taking you a bit further and showing you a landscape full of holes and carved out mountains. You can also request to do this adventure as an overnight trip.

Description: Start this adventure by getting your feet wet! Literally. We will cross the West Castle River and then head up and up. It is well worth it though. Visit the three alpine lakes while taking in the views of Crowsnest Mountain to the north. Listen to the golden trout jump in the lakes as you peer up at the rocky Barnaby Ridge. Description: Hike the mountain where the prairies meet the Rockies. There is nothing easy about this hike as you start heading up almost immediately. Only 20 minutes in and you start getting views looking across Castle Provincial Park and become mesmerized as you look at the sheep trails across the mountain. This is a hiker’s favourite as you hike this mountain with stunning red rock and cliffs hanging off the summit that fuel your view with beautiful back drops.

Description: This hike will make you feel as though you are a part of the hustle and bustle of the mining days. Lille was once booming and it is now a ghost town. The hike in and out does not have much elevation; however, there is some distance! We will explore many things along the way. Let our experts be your guide into the history of the area. Description: The road to the Window Mountain Lake trailhead is an adventure in itself. If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle, ask to book our shuttle. Description: Does driving through the Frank Slide pique your senses? It is even more thrilling when you can look down on the slide itself. As one of our all-time favourite hikes in the Rockies, we take you up Turtle Mountain to the north peak. Our guides are experts when it comes to the area, the diversity, and love to share stories with you about the Frank Slide. Do you want to go further and hike across the massive cracks in the mountain? Ask us and we can extend the trip!

Description: Visit the site of the plane that crashed in 1946 and killed 7 people. Visiting the Plane Crash brings a number of emotions as you witness the plane in several pieces, then you look at the towering mountains around you to discover stunning rock faces and a flowing waterfall. Tragedy meets natures beauty. As you hike into the site, there are a few steep hills, but it is the distance that is tough as it makes for a long day. If you are a very strong hiker, ask us about taking you up the mountain for an exceptional experience. This requires a few extra hours, so let us know ahead of time if you want to attempt something uniquely special.

We will work with you to design a multi-day guided hike. We have quite a few that we have created over the years and love to share them. Since this area is still unknown to a lot of people, we choose to not share our locations online as we have spent countless hours developing these routes and scouting them out. Please inquire with us for availability.

The pricing shown above is for a maximum of 6 people. Additional people will require additional resources and the pricing will change.

The private trips vary in length; however, you will always want to bring:
* Warm clothing for the weather as the weather changes quickly in the mountains
* A waterproof layer, such as a rain coat
* A backpack
* Sunglasses
* Sunscreen
* Hat
* minimum 1L of water (2L for a full day)
* Hiking or running shoes (Hiking shoes are recommended for The Ultimate Frank Slide Experience)
* Your camera!
* You are welcome to bring your own snacks, but it is not required

We want to share this adventure with you; however, we understand that ‘life’ happens sometimes.There is a 48 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 48 hours outside your booked adventure (up to 7 days for group bookings). Please call us at least 48 hours prior to your adventure to cancel or reschedule and we will fully refund, no questions asked.Late-comers or no-shows will not be rescheduled or refunded.For group bookings (6 people or more), we require a cancellation of 7 days or more.
