The Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) is an entry-level course designed for professionals working in remote settings or for people who enjoy going to remote areas. This course differs from Standard First Aid as the curriculum aligns with and includes scenarios relevant to our outdoor environments. The course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue service may not be available for an extensive time period. Students learn to prepare for emergencies that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment.
For a more advanced-level course, check out the Wilderness First Responder (WFR). Click on one of the links to either recertify your WFR (or equivalent course) or take a Bridge Course from WAFA to WFR.
We have partnered with Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA)
For these medical courses, we partner with Wilderness Medical Associates. WMA has set the standard in wilderness medicine for over 30 years. Their thought-provoking curriculum is updated by a group of healthcare professionals and is recognized around the world.
