Miner's Path

Escape into the rich history along the Miner’s Path, and retrace the steps the miners took to make a living in the early 1900s. Coleman was a town built on coal mining and is now recognized as a National Historical Site. Our expert guides share with you the history and remnants along the path, and you will discover what makes Crowsnest Pass a special place in the Canadian Rockies. Not only do you learn about this hidden gem, but you also get a delicious brunch made by a local favourite.

This experience (Brunch & Hike) was voted as one of the TOP 3 EXPERIENCES FOR VISITORS coming to Crowsnest Pass by the Chamber of Commerce in 2019. We are proud of this as we launched this tour at the end of 2018 and we specialize in small groups.

Please book your adventure in advance. You are welcome to call us (403.583.5884) to check availability if you are booking on short notice.

You can pick from two options for this program. Prices vary. Must have 4 people to book a private tour.

Miner’s Path

Searching Availability…

What to expect? We will meet at Country Encounters Bed and Breakfast (7701 17 Ave, Coleman). Here, you will meet your guide and enjoy a delicious homemade brunch from a local favourite. Meet some new people and enjoy casual conversation.

Once brunch is finished, we will head into one of the front rooms to start the tour. You will be assigned a task to complete, just like the miner’s did when they went to work. We will have some time to refill water bottles and use the bathroom before heading onto the trail.

Along the tour (we leave right from Country Encounters), we will make several stops to discover the Miner’s Path, Coleman’s National Historical Site, and the things that make Crowsnest Pass special and unique. We will head up the Miner’s Path and take a break at Rainbow Falls.

After Rainbow Falls, we will explore one of the old mine sites and we will send you searching for treasures.

We will finish our tour by being welcomed back to Country Encounters.
